Field Notes

Description:

A rather plain (which does not detract from it being a beautiful bird in its own right :D ) grey-brown bird with yellow/olive lightly edging the wings and tail. The name comes from the pale gape between the eye and the beak.

Habitat:

Alone in the front yard.

Notes:

This is the only White-gaped Honeyeater I have seen at home. And even then, I can count on one hand how many I have seen.

I'd never heard of them 'til I moved here hey! The few times I've seen one, it has been only a single bird each time...have fingers crossed for a spotting of two or more :)
