Description:
Green and brown Sawfly larvae feeding as a cohort on the epithelial cells of the upper leaf surface. The mottled green and brown result also gives the larvae camouflaged protection. They keep the leaf surface moist around them with their excretions. The larvae were about 8 mm in length. Order Hymenoptera, Suborder Symphyta.
Habitat:
Mendenhall Glacier National Park, Juneau, Alaska.
Notes:
