Field Notes

Description:

Brown millipede with lateral eye spots that run down the length of its body on either side; there are two spots per body segment. The millipede was found underneath a rotten log next to a salamander and soon retreated beneath a skunk cabbage leaf, (photo #3).

Habitat:

Seen in Loosestrife Swamp, which is within a temperate woodland in High Rock Park.

Notes:

Seems like one of the Julidae, but would like further confirmation.
