Thanks for the info, Martin. I asked because these "popeye" beetles are known for loving olive oil... :-)
Thank you Sergio. This was found on Eucalyptus. Our only olives are in backyards or farms in this country. It is not a true weevil but in the ''leaf rolling weevil'' family featuring broad shoulders and non-elbowed antennae. https://sites.google.com/site/beetlesofaustralia/attelabidae-leaf-rolling-weevil
