Field Notes

Description:

Red foxes are a shade of yellowish red. There is a trace of black in the fur of the middle of the back and in the bushy tail, and the feet and outer side of the tips of the ears are black. The throat, underside of the body, and tip of the tail are white.

Habitat:

Red foxes live in a variety of habitats throughout Minnesota, but prefer semi-open country to continuous forest.

Notes:

Spotted on the west side of the Tamarac Visitor Center.
