Field Notes

Description:

Small butterfly, chocolate brown wings with white and light blue spot markings. Body is dark brown with white spots all over.

Habitat:

Gathered in a large group under the shade of some bamboo plants near a pond in an open park in suburban Bangalore.

Notes:

The other butterfly in this spotting, which I did not realise were different, are the Dark Blue Tiger butterfly Tirumala septentrionis. Thanks to Sushil for ID's and pointing out.
