Field Notes

Description:

So this picture shows those orange mystery mushroom C but a few days later. They are more faded, larger, a little floppier, and the spores are choclate/cinnamon brown. The caps have a little bit of minute brown scales, not apparent in this picture, but in the next picture of caps. The gills are the same color. When they were younger, the cap was more orange as were the gills. White hairy attachment to the wood. Any guesses? I really can't figure it out with the books I got, but that it's probably some kind of Crep?

Habitat:

dead moist wood, Prospect Park forest.

Notes:

Chocolate/cinnamon brown spores. Cap when they're old and faded and start to get a little floppy, are 2" wide. White fuzzy attachment to the wood.
