Description:

Not a water hyacinth but similar. Cropped the first shot for a close up view.

Habitat:

All the big houses of zamindars of feudal lords had personal ponds (sometimes multiples) This was growing on the banks of one such pond at Sen-bati, Guptipara, West Bengal, India

Notes:

Wikipedia also calls it Pontederia vaginalis
