Description:

Carpenter bee just starting to bore its nesting chambers in a pressure treated board on our carport.

Habitat:

Found on the edge of a mixed forest next to our garden.

Notes:

Second pic taken four days later. No more progress. Looks like the bee gave up on this hole.
