Field Notes

Description:

Slim bird with a distinct black crest. Under-surface is white. Red near the vent. White and red patches on cheek

Habitat:

On an electric wire near my house. These birds sometimes come to my rooftop terrace to look for food...and are usually chased away by the regular visitors the red-vented bulbuls P. cafer. Yesterday it stuck around for a few moments...hence these shots.

Notes:

Its call is beautiful...liquid notes of pure music.
