Field Notes

Description:

This Sparrowhawk took a Bar-shouldered Dove from the front yard before taking his meal up into a tree across the road (Everything was eaten!).
Approx. 30cm in height, similar in appearance to Brown Goshawks but with a square shaped tail and less pronounced brow.
Collared Sparrowhawks are specialist bird hunters.

Sub-urban front yard
