Field Notes

Description:

This Atala butterfly was about an inch tall. It was very slow though because it was a cold day here in Florida. I picked it up carefully from the ground ( it looked like it was dead) and set it on my hand and it walked around on my hand for about 2 hours until I finally had to put it on a plant. It's wings were a beautiful metallic blue. Very striking.
