Description:

Many of these plants were growing in this area. Many, like this one, were over 3 feet tall. Small Milkweed Bugs were feeding on the seed pods: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/1859346003

Habitat:

Next to a vegetable garden in a suburban yard next to forested swamp

I found a chrysalis, but it had fallen off one of the plants. I have seen a few adult monarchs around though
