Description:
Medium sized heron, beautiful cream to tan body, olive and dark brown on the back and wings. Grey around the beak and yellow around the eyes. Long yellow legs and feet. Beak is long and straight with distinctive colour stripe, black at the tip, yellow in the middle and dark grey near the face. When flys the wings are very white underneath.
Habitat:
Seen on some old concrete pilings at the waters edge in a very busy boating area in an estuary but not far from the sea.
