Tawny Frogmouth
-32.1218, 116.084
Field Notes
Description:
A pair of Tawny FrogMouths perched for the day along a high branch of a dead eucalyptus gum tree awaiting their nightly feeding time. Great to see them in the late autumn sun. They stayed there all day. I've only usually see them flying in my headlights at night .
Habitat:
This pair are in a tall group Marri and Jarrah eucalyptus trees in an open forested area on our property in the hills south east of Perth. Outer suburbia seems to suit them as we often hear their calls at night at certain times of the year.
