Description:

A tiny delicate beauty of a moth, with silver white scales and orange stripes bordered in black and red eyes. The antennae are longer than the entire body of the moth and it waves them around continuously. Only 3 mm in length. Family Gracillariidae.

Habitat:

Garden lights, semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.

A beautiful creature, one of the Gracillariidae. At rest they have this characteristic pose. Though small many are economically significant as leaf miners.
