Field Notes

Description:

The male has a green head with a brown and white body. They have a large, oddly shaped bill. The last two photos are a male in eclipse plumage.

Habitat:

Found in waters throughout much of the Northern Hemisphere. I normally don't see these guys at our park in town, but today there were about 6 of them. It was a nice surprise!

Thanks J! I can't believe you haven't seen one before, I was under the impression they are most everywhere in the Northern Hemisphere lol
Awesome spotting, Ashley! I'd love to see these guys sometime!
