In Indonesia this bird call ' burung gereja ', this is a small bird, body lenght around ( head to body ) 7 - 10 cm.

Your length guess is a little out, these are around the 14cm mark, just slightly smaller than the House Sparrow. Length is measured bill tip to tail tip. Tree Sparrows have a chocolate crown and both sexes are similar. House Sparrow males have a broad grey crown stripe while females are overall brown pattern, no black or white.

@Daniele, thank for your ID and info, in Indonesia this bird is called the sparrow because almost every church there are birds, and in large number..

Hi everyone! Chief is correct with sparrow, but the house sparrow doesn't have a black spot on the cheek. This a tree sparrow.
