The term black panther, as Glen noted, doesn't refer to any separate species but melanistic jaguars and leopards. You can see their spots and rosettes when the sunlight hits their fur; they are just as spotted as their fellow cats.

Photo number two is really nice as you can see all the beautiful markings, I do believe there is evidence to show that black panthers are actually melanistic jaguars. tried so hard to see one of these in Guyana but no luck :(

Gilma, it's a jaguar as well, but, from Wikipedia.............."The black jaguar is one of three animals called "panther" – the others are the black leopard and the cougar."
