Field Notes

Description:

Plump caterpillar with sparse tufts of hair protruding from knobs on its back and hair along the lower portion of the body. Dark reddish-brown color with faint orange stripe along dorsal line, with several white splotches in a line near the head. Approximately 1"-1 1/2" in length. Sighted on the leaf of a flowering almond bush.
