Description:

"Adults brown to grey with blotches and clusters of black spots on back and sides; pelagic juveniles covered with black spots "

"Fish of the genus Cyclicthys have three-rooted, rigid spines (actually modified scales) distributed over their bodies, and beak-like jaws, used to crush their hard-shelled prey (crustaceans and molluscs).[2] They differ from the porcupinefishes of the genus Diodon, which have moveable spines." Clear protected reefs with sponge and algal habitats; Indo-Pacific

Notes:

Spotted at a depth of about 5 m. Secret Garden, Anilao, Batangas, Philippines

Very interesting Eric. I immediately thought a type of porcupinefish but there we go! Different by spines. Thanks for that. :)
