Field Notes

Description:

The Amazonian manatee is the smallest of the existing manatees in the world, reaching a length from 2.8 to 3.0 meters and weighing up to 450 kilograms. His dark gray leather is extremante thick and sturdy. Most individuals have a white spot in the ventral region. This feature, along with the absence of nails in the pectoral fins, helps to distinguish it from the manatee bedlinen and Manatee Africa. The Amazonian manatee is also the only one who lives exclusively in freshwater.

Habitat:

It can be found in all the rivers of the Amazon Basin.
