Description:

Cobalt blue, medium-sized bird with a red eye observed wading in the water and fishing at midday.

Habitat:

Seen in a swamp in Big Cypress National Preserve.

I’m surprised you haven’t come across this! Search the marshes around dusk (or dawn).
Still on my wish list. I see it is found in SE Texas where 2 of my daughters live, so there is still hope. Great shots Mauna. Thanks.
