Red with gray around lower body and white stripe on wings. Other versions were all gray with yellow accents and white stripe on wing

I thought about that but I didn't notice the beak being longer so I don't think it is.
What about the red crossbill (Luxia curvirostra)
I'm leaning towards the pine grosbeak. Not sure we have chaffinch in Alaska.
