Field Notes

Description:

Species with a length of the forewings between 25-35 mm. A distinctive feature is that the upper wings are white with a concave black apical spot on the forewings. The females have two black spots in the middle of the forewings. In addition, two black spots are visible on the underside of the forewings in both sexes. The underside of the hindwings are creamy yellow.
It owes its common name to the attraction that the caterpillars of this species feel for cabbage.

Habitat:

Among the wild plants of an urban garden.
