Field Notes

Description:

Small quail type of bird, short legs, stout body, very short beak. Sandy coloured plumage with black and darker accents. Black around the base of the beak, black around the eye. White stripe above the eye, white stripe across the chest.

Habitat:

Seen on the road in open grassland in Tarangire.

Notes:

I think this is some kind of quail, but for the life of me cannot find anything that looks like this amongst the quails, grateful for any assistance.
