Description:

These stunning Parrots are "the only mainly green parrot with large red shoulder patches. The male is bright lime green with a black back and deep blue rump. The tail is green with a yellow tip. The bill and eye are red and the legs are grey. The female is similar, but with a smaller wing patch and dark green back and a paler rump." (Birdlife Australia: https://birdlife.org.au/bird-profile/red-winged-parrot )

Habitat:

Sitting at the top of the tree overlooking the grassed area with the sprinkler on and the garden. Down below in the garden and on the grass they had plenty of company from Double-barred Finches (Taeniopygia bichenovii), Peaceful Doves (Geopelia striata placida), a couple of Great Bowerbirds (Chlamydera nuchalis), and a bunch of other bird species at Goombaragin on the Dampier Peninsula.
