Field Notes

Description:

A beautiful 'tough-looking" fern with long fronds growing under tall trees Growing up to 50 cms and spreading to a metre.

Habitat:

damp eucalyptus forest - by a stream
native of New Zealand

Notes:

No sporangia on the underside - perhaps not fertile. new fornds are said to be bronze-coloured which is intensified when growing in the open.
Also called Blechnum minus sensu
