Description:

A member of the sparrow family, the Dark-eyed Junco has six sub-species: Slate-colored Junco, Oregon Junco, White-winged Junco, Pink-sided Junco, Gray-headed Junco, and Red-backed Junco.

Habitat:

The Dark-eyed Junco is prolific in North America. It is found from northern Florida to the middle of Alaska. It prefers wooded areas with easy access to open spaces for foraging.
