Field Notes

Description:

Small black fish about 8cm long. Long eel like body, with two long narrow fins dorsally and ventral. The gap in between the two fins making the body appear if it is in two pieces, but a single long body. Two fanning fins at the front near the face. Black. Not a hider, most of the little ones skooted into the shadows when the camera aims at them, this one didn't care much.

Habitat:

In coral rock pools on the beach at low tide along the east coast
