Field Notes

Description:

Perennial.
Corolla varies from white to yellowish-white, with green veins and faint hint of purple in the white areas.
Calyx. Five lobes; lanceolate, 5-35mm long by 0.5-12mm wide
Leaves. Dark green; glossy

Habitat:

Cluster of five plants growing in moist, west-facing, shaded area under a mixed pine/deciduous woods near a lake.

Notes:

One of only three Gentiana species with predominantly white corollas.
