Field Notes

Description:

Tall crane, Dark grey body, black towards the tail, white on the ends of the wings. light grey long necks. Heads very distinctive with white cheeks, black cap, red wattle and yellow to orange fan of light feathers standing straight on the head and back of neck.

Habitat:

Seen in open grassland near an inland lake in Ngorongoro
