Field Notes

Description:

Large Ostrich, Body plumage dark black, white on the ends of the wings, tail feathers are a sort of rust colour. Neck, head and legs are bare. Usually bare skin is a pale pink to grey, but this male is in breeding season and his skin is quite bright pink to red.

Habitat:

Roaming... in open grassland near an inland lake in National Park.
