Description:

Saw this on the kelp beds in the summer in Monterey. It might be a seagull but it also could be any other type of sea bird.

Species ID Suggestions

Comments (1)

Well, I can't say exactly what it is, but the way it's standing and the uniform white coloration tells me it's an Egret of some kind. Gulls never stand upright like that, and almost all have grey or black on the backs and wingtips.
