Field Notes

Description:

A large spread of clam shells, both alive and dead on the margins of dead coral reefs on the shoreline. These clams are mixed with barnacles also and almost cover all available spots around the margins of the tidal pools in this old reef. At low tide they are all exposed and seem dry and dead, but at high tide many open and are alive.

Habitat:

Old coral reef in the tidal zone along the east coast
