Field Notes

Description:

My dog accidentally unearthed this nest while climbing in/out of the Blanco River today. Guessing the eggs are from a turtle, maybe a soft shell turtle?? Anyone know? About 20 eggs a little smaller than ping-pong balls.

Habitat:

Sandy river bank

they are freshwater, beside Blanco River
If they are from saltwater, they are probably loggerhead. If fresh, maybe snapping, box, or painted.
