Field Notes

Description:

Limacodidae or Euclidae (If I'm totally off please let me know), commonly known as a slug or cup moth caterpillar.
They are usually flattened, and have suckers on the underside. These suckers replace prolegs (a small, fleshy, stub structure typically seen on caterpillars). Slug moth caterpillars move by rolling waves as opposed to walking with individual prolegs, as one would usually see. They go so far as to even use a lubricant (which is really more a kind of liquified silk) to move.

Habitat:

Subtropical mountainous area, dense brush and trees, hot and humid, running stream.
