Description:

Male: Brown back with white trip around eye and side, black belly.
Female, Juvenile, Non-breeeding: Brown back with whitish belly.

...A a black bill that is about an inch long.

Habitat:

Beach

Lifer! Very cool bird, I hope to see a breeding one, one day!

Thank you Josh! It was actually your Black-bellied plover spotting that told me what it was, because earlier that day I had looked at it. It was very cool to see it feeding along side a whimbrel.
Please do not pay attention to the range map on this photo, it was taken in San Diego, California. My range map does not seem to be working right now.
Great bird! You must have a sharp eye to pick that out on the beach.
