Field Notes

Description:

Red eye and bill, white stripe on bill. Black plumage throughout with white flight feathers. World's only mostly black swan.

Habitat:

Widespread throughout Australia except the dry desert center and far north. Native to Australia but introduced to New Zealand and elsewhere.
