Field Notes

Description:

coarse stemmed, 2-4 feet tall in thick clumps. This grass was found in an open meadow area, dry ground, liveoak and shrubs. Can be common in marshes and near coaslines.

Habitat:

Much of Texas Gulf Coast, this dry marsh/meadow was in a large (several achres) open area, dry and sandy with shrubs, liveoaks and cacti. Small marshes dotted the area as well.
