Field Notes

Description:

Low growing plant with a woody stem that has trailing growth. Most leaves are compound and trifoliate with serrated edges. Flowers (and fruit) grow on erect stems with prickles. Flowers are typical of those in the rose family. Fruit look like blackberries.

Habitat:

Suburban neighborhood. Wooded border of yard.
