Hackberry Emperor
Asterocampa celtis
37.2264, -95.7111
Field Notes
Description:
Two different specimens of the hackberry emperor. A brushfoot butterfly native to North America. They're not fond of flowers, but feed on rotting fruit, tree sap, dung, and animal carcasses. So these butterflies are kind of hardcore.
Habitat:
They live all throughout North America.
