Field Notes

Description:

Large bird, about 20-25cm high, black back and wings, white chest, Grey to black head with black on top of head. Black around the eye, longish black and white tail, large thick curved beak mostly red in colour.

Habitat:

Seen in open woodland in Tarangire NP.

Notes:

I thought this was a red billed hornbil, but now I am confused after looking up the species. I think now it may be Jacksons Hornbill?
