Field Notes

Habitat:

Desert wash

Notes:

My brother and I inadvertently flushed this owl and its mate from a tree. One of them landed a hundred yards or so from where I was and I got this photo. I checked out their roost afterwards and found a dead owl carcass in the upper branches. Maybe they were guarding that spot? I thought it was strange anyhow.
