Description:
Commonly called Cottonmouth or Cotton Mouth, or Water Moccasin or Black Moccasin. A species of pit viper common to the Southeastern United States.
Habitat:
Usually prefers fresh-water areas like swamps, ditches, ponds, etc. but has also occupied some salt-water areas and has been located in areas over a mile away from water.
