Description:
Length around 8mm, dark brown color with four yellow rings around the abdomen.
Habitat:
The Brachygastra genus belongs to the Epiponini tribe and has a wide distribution in the Neotropics, extending from Argentina to the southeastern United States, and the Caribbean (Trinidad and Tobago), and includes sixteen described species and one under description. B. lecheguana happens from Colombia to northern Argentina, with exception of the andinian region. This specimen was found in small protected wood in southern Brazil.
