Field Notes

Description:

A baby cardinal I found on my walkway. His parents where VERY close and very unhappy, so taking a picture of them was a bit difficult. This little guy is capable of flight, he flew off when I got too close. I was going to help him but after he flew off he made several distress calls and that's when I had two angry adult cardinals flying around. Suffice to say I got out of there. They're still in my pecan tree in my yard, and are more placcid. Maybe one day I'll snap a picture.

Habitat:

Cardinals live all over the US, this particular fledgling and parents live in a pecan tree in my front yard.
