Description:
Medium sized fly that looks like it was tightly stuffed into it's metallic blue body. It has a dusting of white around the top of the shoulders and fairly bright red eyes. I think both male and female are represented on this dog poop
Habitat:
Dog poop in deep grass on a forested ridge in the middle of the coastal suburban sprawl
Notes:
There were other species of fly sitting about in the grass waiting to grab some chow when I accidentally scared this fly off. That might indicate the Oriental Latrine Fly is a high order and aggressive scavenger.
It is not out mighty buildings, nor pandas and tigers that humans should be known but by the things that exist all over the world to survive on our effluent... just a thought!
