Field Notes

Description:

A very colourful day-flying moth. The photo is a better description than any words of mine.
I have now (with help) found the genus and 2 photos of the same species, but no specific name.

Habitat:

Beside the Manu Road that is a non-bitumenised track through primary rainforest.
Altitude around 1016 m.

Notes:

One of many great day-flying moths seen in this region.

I have another perso (ggod with IDs telling me Uranophora sp. too and I have found Uranophora splendida that look like it to me.
If you look at my links they are trustable, where yours in the comment below is not trustable and most probably wrongly IDed. Although I am quite confident with Uranophora I am not 100% sure, but almost...
I am not clear why you disagree though clearly the one I showed might be wrongly identified. I wish I could find the second, better image, though still that would prove nothing.
I do not think it is Cyanopepla sp., more likely to be Uranophora, see my comments and links below.
Hi Dominik, I initially found a much better image but can not find it now! Here is a blurred one: http://www.johnpool.net/amboro-n.html The initial ID was from Barbol on Flickr if you know him.
Still sceptic with Cyanopepla. Who did give you this ID?
Thanks Dominik. Not one of the better photos but certainly a lovely moth. There was another quite similar one too.

Wonderful one! I think it is Erebidae, Arctiinae, Arctiini, Ctenuchina and Uranophora sp., not really sure which one it is. Maybe Uranophora cf. splendida or Uranophora cf. entomictis?? http://ra-bugio.blogspot.ch/2013/02/a-grande-diversidade-de-mariposas-da.html http://cahurel-entomologie.com/gs/data/uploads/ctenuchidae/ctenuchini/uranophora/uranophora_entomistis_gf.jpg
