Field Notes

Description:

Small snake in a tiny brook with its tail hoisted under a rock to keep it steady. This snake was fishing on Appalachian Mountains. It had a white underbelly and black/brown head and body. It could hold its breath for about 1 minute before coming up for air.

Habitat:

In a mountainous region with deciduous forests. The water was very clear and fresh with many other creatures living there.
